Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, where you will play a pivotal role in coordinating and managing the logistics of shipping and receiving. This position requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently to ensure the smooth flow of goods in and out of the facility.
Shift:
5am-5pm (M-F) - 60 hours weeks!!! (Not manditory)
Pay:
25.15/hr Responsibilities Coordinate trucks for all shipments using common carriers or customer trucks. Set up carriers with pick-ups as needed. Run shipping labels as required and place them on pallets before shipping. Handle shipping bills, packing slips, seals, and other documentation. Run daily shipping schedules and shipment planning reports, verifying any special instructions. Scan pallets into the Baan system for shipping and verify sales orders. Process shipments and file necessary paperwork. Work with customer service to provide the best delivery service and rate quotes. Determine and ensure proper storage and load-out procedures to protect products from damage. Perform incoming and final inspections when necessary. Maintain a current trailer log and verify incoming shipments with packing slips. Security seal trailers as requested and ensure all packaging is correct. Conduct physical inventory of finished products and other supplies. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to plant safety and hygiene rules. Call customers with delivery notifications or to arrange appointments. Load available trucks according to the shipping schedule and store bags neatly in the warehouse. Ensure conveyor lines are empty, and pallets are ready for the warehouse. Receive materials for the plant and distribute them appropriately. Exercise good people skills with customers and drivers. Ensure correct count and weight per box from the closing department. Label and hang required sample bags on pallets. Ensure proper covering is used, such as poly shrouds and double pallets, as specified. Band boxes neatly and maintain an adequate supply of picture frames. Drive forklifts and keep them in regulation compliance. Verify daily and next-day loads, ensuring customer sign-off on packing slips. Complete daily reports and maintain sweeping logs. Be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, performing other duties as instructed. Keep machines and tools clean and in good working order. Essential Skills Ability to bend, twist, and kneel. Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand continuously for 2-3 hours. Ability to perceive colors and manual dexterity.
Food Safety Training:
GMP's, Personnel Practices, Chemical Control, Cleaning, Food Defense, Allergen Control, HACCP, and SOPs. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with logistics, inventory control, and order selection. Proficiency in SAP and similar systems. Ability to drive a forklift. Why Work Here?
