Job Summary We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Gate Clerk to manage entry and exit points at our distribution facility. In this vital role, you will oversee the smooth flow of vehicles, shipments, and personnel, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols. Your energetic approach will help maintain efficient warehouse operations, support shipping and receiving processes, and uphold trade compliance standards. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to be the first point of contact for visitors and carriers while contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics network. Responsibilities Control access for employees, visitors, contractors, and carriers by verifying credentials and processing documentation accurately. Monitor inbound and outbound shipments using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RFID scanners to ensure proper handling and documentation. Assist with shipping logistics, including coordinating freight arrivals and departures, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations when applicable. Support order fulfillment activities such as picking & packing, order picking, stocking, and packaging to facilitate timely delivery. Maintain detailed logs of all entries and exits, using data entry skills within ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and inventory management software. Conduct basic math calculations for inventory counts, shipment quantities, and order accuracy checks. Provide excellent customer service by addressing carrier inquiries professionally and directing visitors efficiently while maintaining security protocols. Requirements Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is highly preferred. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems, and RF scanners is essential. Ability to perform data entry accurately while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills for inventory counts, shipment calculations, and order verification. Valid forklift certification or experience operating forklifts is a plus but not mandatory; training may be provided. Strong understanding of shipping & receiving procedures, order fulfillment processes, and trade compliance regulations. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service; ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
