Part Time Shipping & Receiving Clerk Industries of the Blind - 3.6 Greensboro, NC Job Details Part-time 21 hours ago Qualifications Computer operation Hand trucks Basic math Forklift Administrative experience Lifts and hoists Weight checks Warehouse experience Computer skills Pallet jack FedEx Ship Manager Material handling equipment operation Full Job Description Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Essential Functions Loading and unloading trucks Assembling, processing and stage orders for shipment Receiving and storing raw materials in designated areas Prepares and maintains related shipping and receiving documents Processes orders utilizing FEDEX and UPS shipping station Drive Box truck to pick up materials from other locations Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area Occasionally required to assume additional operational duties in the absence of shipping supervisor Promptly completes any other duties and responsibilities designated by the department supervisor Responsible for safety and good housekeeping practices around work areas Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions Work Experience 3 to 5 years Minimum of three years' experience with warehouse operations Basic computer skills necessary to utilize FEDEX and UPS shipping software Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, etc. utilized in the movement and storage of materials Capability of performing administrative tasks Experience using basic math skills to perform job Able to use and interpret weights and measurements Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to stand and use external dexterities for an entire shift Must be able to lift, pull and push to 45 pounds at times Requires lifting, bending, reaching, and carrying Noise in the work environment is generally moderate
