The Shipping Clerk/Material Handler is responsible for inspecting, sorting, tagging, and transporting internally generated scrap metal to support melt shop operations. This role plays a critical part in maintaining material integrity, safety compliance, and overall housekeeping standards within a heavy industrial environment. Shipping and Receiving of materials. Inspect all internally generated scrap metal material to determine usability and proper classification. Collect, transport, and deliver scrap material to the melt shop in a timely and safe manner. Maintain strict segregation of materials within the melt shop. Properly tag all sorted and inspected materials in accordance with quality and safety procedures. Ensure any unchecked material is clearly red tagged prior to entering the melt shop. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the scrap and work areas to support safety and efficiency. Follow all safety policies, procedures, and material handling guidelines at all times.

Previous experience working in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment is required. Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver materials weighing up to 75 lbs. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and adhere to safety standards. Valid Drivers License. High School Diploma or GED required.
