Position Summary The Receiving Assistant supports the day-to-day receiving and warehouse operations at Empire & Co.'s Secaucus Warehouse. This position is responsible for assisting with the receipt, inspection, documentation, organization, and movement of incoming products and materials. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse environment. The Receiving Assistant will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and warehouse team to ensure incoming shipments are received accurately, products are properly identified and stored, and discrepancies or damages are communicated promptly. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist with receiving incoming furniture, products, materials, and supplies. Unload incoming shipments and deliveries safely and efficiently. Verify quantities, product information, and shipment details against packing slips, purchase orders, and other documentation. Inspect incoming products for damage, shortages, incorrect items, or other discrepancies. Document and report damaged or missing products to the Warehouse Manager. Label, tag, and properly organize received products within designated warehouse locations. Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting inventory counts. Enter receiving and inventory information into applicable company systems. Maintain an organized receiving area and ensure products are properly staged and stored. Assist with preparing products for delivery, installation, transfer, or customer pickup. Move and stage furniture and other products throughout the warehouse as needed. Assist with general warehouse duties, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining warehouse areas. Follow all company safety policies and proper material-handling procedures. Safely operate warehouse equipment after receiving appropriate training and authorization. Communicate effectively with warehouse team members and other internal departments regarding incoming shipments and product discrepancies. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous warehouse, receiving, shipping, logistics, or inventory experience preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to read and understand packing slips, purchase orders, labels, and other warehouse documentation. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company systems and software. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills. Dependable, punctual, and willing to take initiative. Forklift or other warehouse equipment experience is a plus. Skills & Competencies Attention to

Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, and pull products and warehouse materials. Ability to safely move furniture and other large or bulky items with appropriate assistance or equipment. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb, and maneuver throughout the warehouse. Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and conditions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance or appropriate equipment.
Pay:
$23.00 - $25.00 per hour
