Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Associate to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will manage the efficient movement of goods in and out of our facility, ensuring accurate inventory control, timely order fulfillment, and smooth logistics operations. Your proactive approach will help maintain our reputation for reliability and excellence in customer service. Duties Checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantity, distribution and routing are correct: enters same into the computer and a shipping log. Prepares documentation for shipment of customers' orders including freight bills and address labels: contacts customers and freight carriers for pick-ups as required. Receives incoming goods and materials, daily: verifies that these items are in accordance with purchase order specifications and enters them into the inventory: where appropriate routs shipments to proper departments. Prepares samples of product items for shipment to Sales Representatives.
Prepares the outgoing mail:
affixes postage as required: closes out postal meter. Prepares UPS book/manifest, closes out meter, runs daily ship reports. Maintains production and time records as required. Maintains high-quality standards as required. Provides instruction and assistance to other employees as required. Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required including typing, filing and answering the department telephone.Qualifications:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of basic mathematics at the high school level and a familiarity with shipping policies, procedures and forms.Experience:
One year of shipping experience is preferred.Skills/Aptitude:
Good oral communications ability; attention to detail; and the ability to type and use a computer keyboard are required.Working Conditions:
Plant environment. A valid NYS Driver's License may be required. Exposure to noxious odors and toxic chemicals used in printing; high noise levels in the pressroom; and frequent exposure to drafts when loading dock doors are opened and closed.
