Primary function of this role is to receive, disperse and pack for shipment, goods and material, while maintaining a record of activity. The tools and equipment used include lift trucks, stake body road trucks, cranes, material handing equipment, computer terminal, labeling making data capture, communication, measuring devices, storage bins, pallets, etc. Power saws, scales, pump jacks, and miscellaneous hand tools. Materials include raw and finished materials, castings, forgings, bar stock, sheet, tubing, etc. Purchased and fabricated parts and equipment, wood fasterners, banding, compressed gases and cutting fluids, etc.

Responsibilities:

Receives work instructions from supervisor Un/loads material to/from trucks. Transports material to proper usage or storage points. Processes related paperwork as required or directed. Fills and receives orders to stock or floor, completes data entry. Picks up or transports material as directed with highway truck or in-house mobile truck Prepares items for shipping, builds boxes, flats, skids,etc. Shipping preparation may be made per specification (example: exports, navy packing, UPS) or as directed. Processes related paperwork as required or directed. Loads items on carriers to be shipped. Part counts or weigh counts inventories. Identifies bar stock with painted color codes, marks stocks with paint, touch-up paints products packed for shipment. Inspects own work in process, but work is subject to in-process and/or final inspection by others, measures, marks, identifies work, records shipping/receiving data, etc., as directed. Responsible for performance of duties and for good housekeeping in immediate work area. Cooperates with and receives assistance from other shop personnel in the performance of work functions.
