POSITION SUMMARY
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely receipt, storage, movement, and shipment of raw materials and finished goods. This role ensures inventory accuracy through proper ERP transactions, maintains warehouse organization, and supports production by providing materials in accordance with company procedures while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Receive incoming shipments and inspect materials for shipping or handling damage. Verify packing lists, purchase orders, product numbers, batch numbers, and quantities for accuracy. Process receipts in the ERP system by entering purchase order information and confirming received quantities. Print and apply inventory labels to all accepted materials and finished goods. Coordinate with Quality Assurance to obtain approval before releasing materials into inventory. Store materials in designated warehouse locations using established inventory control procedures. Prepare, stage, and load outbound shipments according to Bills of Lading, packing lists, and customer requirements. Maintain accurate inventory transactions and warehouse records within the ERP system. Forward receiving documentation, packing lists, and Bills of Lading to Accounting as required. Assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventory activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and shipping dock. Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently. Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and operating procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
High school diploma or GED required. Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience preferred. Forklift certification or the ability to successfully complete forklift training. Basic computer skills with the ability to learn ERP systems. Basic math skills and attention to detail. Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb throughout the workday. Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely. Work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with varying temperatures. Ability to work overtime and weekends as business needs require
