Job Summary Responsible for coordinating the receiving of all inbound materials and supplies to support manufacturing operations. This position ensures incoming shipments are accurately inspected, verified, documented, and stored while maintaining inventory accuracy within the ERP system as well as supporting warehouse organization, material movement, and shipping activities to ensure the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility.
Duties & Essential Job Functions:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and other receiving documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Inspect incoming materials for visible damage, shortages, or discrepancies and promptly report issues to the appropriate personnel. Accurately receive materials into the ERP system and utilize handheld scanning equipment to record, locate, move, and maintain inventory transactions. Label, identify, and transport received materials to the appropriate warehouse or production storage locations. Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient receiving area to promote safe material handling and inventory accuracy. Coordinate with Purchasing, Production, and other departments to ensure timely receipt and availability of materials required for manufacturing. Move materials, supplies, and equipment between departments as needed to support production operations. Assist with inventory control activities, including cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory organization, and maintaining accurate inventory records. Review work orders and pick materials for production or customer orders according to established procedures. Will assist in the preparation of outbound shipments by verifying quantities, packaging materials appropriately, and ensuring all shipments are properly labeled and accompanied by required documentation. Utilize the ERP system to process shipping transactions and maintain accurate shipping records, as needed. Load and unload trucks safely using forklifts and other material handling equipment. Operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport materials throughout the facility while following all safety procedures. Perform daily safety inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse and shipping area. Reliable and consistent attendance is an essential function of this position. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Prior receiving experience within a manufacturing environment (1-2 years) is required. Prior warehouse and/or shipping experience is preferred. ERP system experience. Experience with and/or licensed powered industrial truck (forklift) operator. Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently lifts and moves up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis; occasionally lifts and moves up to 65 lbs. independently and with the assistance of a co-worker and/or forklift. Frequently moves within the department and within the plant, between multiple buildings. Frequently positions self to work around, finished product when counting, wrapping, moving, etc. Works both indoors and outdoors between buildings in varying weather conditions as required. Frequently climbs on and off a forklift multiple times during their shift. Silco, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
