Full Job Description Description:
Essential Duties:
Authenticate receipt of direct and consigned material shipments alongside bills of lading, invoices or other records. Ability to confer and correspond with internal departments and external representatives supporting production operations to execute requests and rectify problems. Manage trailer yard records to maintain First In First Out (FIFO) throughout the plant Assist in the verification of incoming material as to the specific part number and quantity against the receipt and incoming material checklist. Report all discrepancies to the Materials Coordinator. Assure that shipping and receiving employee roles and responsibilities are completed efficiently and timely Report any deliveries that have not delivered at their scheduled window time. Properly file Packing Slips on a daily basis and archive old documents every 3 months. Provide daily Yard report. Perform daily cycle counts. Develop and implement continuous improvement ideas. Assist the Materials Manager and Materials Coordinator with the investigation of inventory errors and discrepancies. Log in all FedEX/UPS shipments and obtain the proper signature prior to releasing the package. Perform dock audits as requested Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Must be willing to work Overtime in the event that there is no coverage in the receiving office. Performs other duties deemed necessary by the Materials Manager/ Asst. Materials Manager/ Materials Coordinators and Materials Supervisor. The Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reasonably change, increase or reduce the duties and responsibilities.
Requirements:
Education / Skill /
Experience Requirements:
High School graduate minimum or equivalent, 2-yr Associates Degree preferred. At least 2 years experience in a manufacturing automotive environment. Hi-lo license required. Ability to teach and lead others on material handling matters. Capable and experienced with safe operation of material handling equipment such as fork trucks, tote carts and tuggers. Familiar with part sequencing, kiting, bar coding and importance of safe material handling principles. Good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. Above average mechanical aptitude and analytical skills. Knowledge of internal shop order numbers, their components and importance required.
