Job Summary The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for efficiently handling incoming and outgoing shipments by utilizing RF and WMS systems to ensure accurate inventory management. This role involves picking, packing, and fulfilling shipments, maintaining organized storage, and ensuring compliance with company standards for quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, proficiency with digital inventory systems, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Key Responsibilities
- Ensures incoming inventory are received and put away accurately using an RF and/or WMS system.
- Utilizes the RF/WMS systems to ensure sufficient supply inventories are on hand.
- Pick, pack, and fulfill accurate shipments to be sent from the facility.
- Accurately transfer inventory within the warehouse.
- Ensures the accuracy and integrity of all outgoing shipments, verifying orders and packaging to minimize damage and optimize freight costs.
- Collaborates with Accounts Receivable Administrator to reconcile receipts with packing lists, promptly addressing any discrepancies.
- Operates forklift equipment proficiently throughout the shift to facilitate material handling tasks.
- Packages and labels items according to established guidelines and prepares shipments for dispatch.
- Reads and interprets instructions from team leaders and written orders to fulfill shipping requirements.
- Upholds a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company safety protocols.
- Utilizes computer systems to track inventory movements, manage shipping schedules, and generate shipping documents.
- Implements quality control measures to ensure all outgoing shipments meet company standards.
- Coordinates with suppliers and logistics partners to optimize shipping processes and reduce lead times.
- Assists in periodic inventory counts and audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
Qualifications Proficiency with computers and digital inventory systems, including RF and WMS systems. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift and handle materials up to 75lbs individually. Proficiency in reading a tape measure and performing basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of fractions). Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment to meet production goals. Adherence to company policies, safety rules, and procedures. Physical Requirements
- Ability to individually lift, pull, and drag material weighing up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to climb 3' step-ladders.
- Ability to maneuver with no range of motion limitations.
- Ability to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts. Work Environment
- Works in a distribution center warehouse.
- Will be exposed to seasonal hot and cold temperatures.
