The Shipping Clerk is responsible for executing daily processes within DCI to ensure all outbound shipments are processed safely, efficiently, and accurately. To be successful the Shipping Clerk must be capable of managing daily priorities while maintaining a positive and professional relationship across team and organizational boundaries.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
(include, but not limited to): Maintain a safe work environment by executing physical tasks in a consistently safe manner Execute processes as specified to ensure orders are processed in accordance with customer expectations Support end of line quality by assuring all materials are handled and packaged appropriately Support plant on time delivery (OTD) and production productivity by maintaining effective shipping schedules Assure accuracy of transactions within ERP (Intuitive) and UPS (Connect Ship) by following all defined processes Work with Customer Service, Production Manager, and Production Supervisor to implement, maintain, and improve processes and material flow Address root cause and corrective action when an issue is discovered either internally or externally Perform other duties as assigned by management to support operational performance Effectively work independently as well as in a team environment
Educational and Skill Requirements:
1-3 years of Manufacturing experience Prior shipping or logistics experience a plus
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to safely lift from 1-20 pounds frequently Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds infrequently Must be able to spend significant time on feet and in motion
Equipment Used:
Personal Computer Telephone system
Work Schedule:
Ability to work flexible hours, with additional time as needed. Less than 1% unplanned absenteeism is expected. No more than 40 unexcused hours per calendar year
