Job Description This role supports a bonded third-party logistics warehouse that provides warehousing, distribution, and transportation services for a diverse customer base. As a Shipping and Receiving Specialist, you ensure the safe, efficient, and accurate loading, unloading, handling, and movement of customer products throughout the facility, with a particular focus on servicing two key customer accounts. You work with various types of forklifts, manage inbound and outbound freight, and help maintain precise inventory control in a high-touch, high-value item division. Responsibilities Safely and efficiently operate sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts to move, load, and unload customer products. Load and unload inbound and outbound trucks, ensuring products are handled carefully and securely. Receive, inspect, and accurately document incoming shipments, including verification of counts, product identification, and lot numbers. Stage and prepare customer orders for shipment according to specific customer requirements and schedules. Transfer product directly from inbound trailers to outbound shipments when operational needs require cross-docking. Support warehouse activities for two assigned customer accounts while meeting established service and accuracy standards. Maintain high levels of data control and record-keeping integrity, including photos, SKUs, serial numbers, and bagging/tagging identification for high-value items. Use MS Office applications such as Outlook and Excel, and work within the Extensiv warehouse management system to process and track inventory and orders. Verify shipment documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer and internal requirements. Maintain inventory accuracy by confirming product locations and updating system records as needed. Perform routine equipment inspections and promptly report any maintenance concerns or safety issues. Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with all safety regulations and warehouse standards. Assist with cycle counts to support ongoing inventory accuracy and control. Perform general warehouse duties as needed to support overall operations and team objectives. Essential Skills 2+ years of warehouse experience preferred, with exposure to shipping, receiving, and inventory processes. Proven experience operating sit-down, stand-up, and reach forklifts, with a strong focus on safety. Ability to safely load and unload trailers in a busy warehouse environment. Experience using RF scanners and warehouse management systems is preferred. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records and inventory. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively as part of a team. Consistent attendance, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment. Comfort working with MS Office applications such as Outlook and Excel. Willingness to learn and use Extensiv WMS with training provided. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior experience in a third-party logistics or bonded warehouse environment is beneficial. Work history handling high-touch, high-value items with detailed documentation is an advantage. Familiarity with data control practices, including capturing photos, SKUs, serial numbers, and tagging or bagging items. Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain clean, orderly work areas. Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and supporting customer account requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
