Shipping and Receiving Specialist Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Specialist accurately receives inventory and carefully packages delicate parts within a clean, advanced machine shop environment. This role supports a high-tech, precision manufacturing operation by handling domestic and international shipments, maintaining organized inventory, and ensuring all parts are packaged, labeled, and prepared to meet exacting quality standards. The position works closely with another team member, sharing responsibilities to keep materials flowing efficiently through the warehouse and production areas. Responsibilities Receive incoming inventory accurately, verifying counts, part numbers, and documentation against packing slips and purchase orders. Inspect incoming parts and materials for damage, accuracy, and quality before accepting and storing them. Carefully package delicate parts using appropriate materials and methods to prevent damage during storage and shipment. Prepare outgoing shipments, including boxing, labeling, and securing parts for both domestic and international shipping. Handle international shipping activities in accordance with company procedures and carrier requirements. Perform warehouse pick and pack tasks to fulfill internal and external orders in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain organized warehouse inventory, including putting away received items and rotating stock as needed. Label parts, boxes, and inventory locations clearly to support accurate tracking and efficient retrieval. Collaborate with the existing shipping and receiving team member to split daily responsibilities and ensure consistent coverage. Work in alignment with high-tech, precision machining and semiconductor-related warehouse processes and standards. Follow all company procedures and work instructions, including learning and adopting new processes or tasks as operations evolve. Support material handling activities to ensure production has the correct parts at the right time. Contribute to a clean, orderly, and professional work area within the machine shop and warehouse. Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding shipment status, inventory issues, or discrepancies. Essential Skills Strong attention to detail in all receiving, packaging, and inventory activities. Proven experience with packaging and shipping processes. Experience working with delicate parts that require careful handling and protection. Ability to perform warehouse pick and pack tasks accurately and efficiently. Familiarity with shipping and receiving functions, including boxing, labeling, and inspection. Capability to support warehouse inventory activities, including receiving and storage. Willingness and ability to learn new processes and tasks in a high-tech environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in a machine shop or semiconductor-related warehouse environment. Experience in a high-tech or machining environment for packaging and warehouse work. Experience with international shipping processes and documentation.
