Shipper/Receiver Associate
Location:
Erie, PA, 16501
Classification:
Hourly Non-Exempt (paid overtime)
General:
Responsible for preparing and processing all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have high school diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of two years experience using computers at some level, Microsoft, and shipping and receiving software. Must have 2-3 years in a lead role in shipping and receiving
Essential Duties:
Receive, control, inspect, and release all incoming customer material, including related computer transactions. Insure all outgoing materials, packaging, process documentation and shipping documents meet customer requirements. Load and unload trucks. Dispose of all scrap materials. Deliver materials to other company buildings and locations. Operate and maintain all shipping dock and material handling equipment in compliance with all safety requirements. Maintain clean equipment and work areas. Wear personal protective equipment and follow safety instructions as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Forklift Driving
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lb. parts and other items from floor to waist on a regular basis while protecting lifted items from damage. Must be able to stand for several consecutive hours without rest, with frequent bending and reaching. Must be able to tolerate a hot work environment, even at times when summer outdoor temperatures combine with residual heat from furnaces.
