Full-time Job Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Technician is responsible for handling incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy in inventory records, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. This role involves verifying shipment contents, organizing inventory, preparing packages for shipment, and coordinating logistics to meet company and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving Duties:

Receive incoming shipments and inspect contents for accuracy and damage. Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing lists. Unload, label, and store incoming materials in designated locations. Update inventory systems and notify relevant departments of received goods.

Shipping Duties:

Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to specifications. Print and affix shipping labels, ensuring proper documentation and tracking. Arrange freight pickups and coordinate with carriers to ensure timely deliveries. Conduct quality checks to ensure correct items are shipped in good condition.

Inventory & Recordkeeping:

Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records in inventory management systems. Conduct cycle counts and assist with periodic inventory audits. Report inventory shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies to supervisors.

Warehouse Maintenance & Safety:

Keep shipping and receiving areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely (certification may be required). Follow workplace safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and product loss.

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required. 1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred. Knowledge of inventory management systems and shipping software is a plus. Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks (certification may be required). Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment. Good communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment:

Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures. Frequent lifting, bending, standing, and handling of materials. May require working overtime, weekends, or shifts based on operational demands.
