Job Description

Come join our team! Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, Bodycote deems this position to be safety-sensitive. Position hours will be Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. Overtime as needed.
Position Summary:
Based in Fountain Inn SC the Shipping & Receiving Clerk will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Manager to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.- Maintains shipping and receiving area as needed.
- Assists with loading and unloading trucks. Schedules truck shipments, UPS, and FedEx as needed.
- Creates Bill of Ladings for shipments (BOL's)
- Interacts with customers as needed to clarify or communicate discrepancies and schedules.
- Inspects and records incoming and outgoing orders for count, damage, dates, etc.
- Brings any irregularities or other discrepancies/concerns to supervisor immediately.
- Promotes and practices safety and good housekeeping.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer's inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.
Qualifications:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.- This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
- Education - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year experience in computer applications including Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software programs related to function.
- Some shipping experience desired.
- Must be able to use a pallet jack.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
Physical & Mental Demands:
The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.- Must be able to work in a sitting position for extended periods of time (at desk, while driving, and/or on airplane travel) in an industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
- Ability to hear in person and via phone.
