Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Associate Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Warehouse Associate plays a key role in coordinating inbound and outbound deliveries, managing inventory, and ensuring accurate documentation within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position combines hands-on warehouse work, including forklift operation and packaging, with data entry and scheduling tasks using SAP and Excel. Responsibilities Schedule, receive, and process deliveries using SAP and Excel to ensure accurate and timely inbound and outbound shipments. Manage daily FedEx and UPS deliveries, including preparing shipments, labeling, and coordinating pickups. Sit near the warehouse shipping door to monitor incoming and outgoing freight and respond quickly to delivery needs. Handle hands-on packaging of products, ensuring items are packed securely and according to company standards. Perform general warehouse duties as needed, including material handling, order pulling, and warehouse packing. Operate forklifts safely to move, load, and unload materials and finished goods within the warehouse. Perform general laborer tasks when required to support production and warehouse operations. Conduct data entry in Excel to maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory levels, and warehouse activities. Assist with inventory control tasks, including cycle counts, warehouse inventory checks, and inventory reconciliation. Use WMS and RF scanners to track inventory movements, verify orders, and maintain accurate stock information. Support logistics activities by coordinating shipping and receiving workflows and communicating with internal teams. Perform material handling tasks to stage, organize, and move products within the shipping and receiving department. Participate in packaging and order pulling to ensure customer orders are fulfilled accurately and on time. Carry out any additional warehouse responsibilities assigned to support overall operational efficiency. Essential Skills At least 3 years of experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse environment. Strong forklift operating skills with a proven track record of safe and efficient equipment use. Proficiency in SAP for scheduling, receiving deliveries, and managing shipping and inventory data. Ability to use Excel for data entry, tracking shipments, and maintaining inventory records. Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including packaging and order pulling. Knowledge of inventory control practices, including cycle counts and warehouse inventory management. Experience working with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and RF scanners for inventory tracking. Familiarity with logistics operations, including coordinating carriers such as FedEx and UPS. Ability to perform general labor and material handling tasks in a fast-paced, production-based environment. Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members across facilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with warehouse packing and order fulfillment processes. Experience in inventory control and warehouse inventory reconciliation. Comfort working with both edible and non-edible product lines in a manufacturing setting. Ability to move between facilities as needed to support shipping and receiving operations. Attention to detail when handling packaging, labeling, and documentation. Reliability and flexibility to perform a variety of warehouse duties beyond core responsibilities. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based on a late first shift from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at a Belcamp-area manufacturing operation, with movement between nearby facilities as needed. The company produces flavors and related products for oils and other substances, including edible items such as seasonings and colorings, as well as non-edible products like essential oils for candles. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with frequent communication across teams and a focus on efficient shipping and receiving processes. The warehouse and shipping/receiving department are medium-sized rather than large, offering a close-knit team setting. Steel-toe footwear is required, and the work is primarily conducted in and around the shipping and receiving area of the warehouse, including time spent near the shipping door and operating forklifts and other material handling equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belcamp, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
