Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for completing packaging work orders as assigned, ensuring adherence to the defined requirements. This role includes operating electronic counting scales, heat sealers, and automated packaging machines, maintaining inventory integrity, and general housekeeping of the warehouse facility. Responsibilities Complete packaging work orders as assigned by the Packaging Manager. Stop work order processing upon identifying any nonconforming condition. Operate electronic counting scales, heat sealers, and automated packaging machines. Maintain inventory integrity, including recording the final inventory count of packaged parts upon work order completion. Maintain the warehouse facility and adhere to workmanship standards and conduct codes. General housekeeping of the Packaging area. Essential Skills Minimum of 2+ years of warehouse experience in a shipping environment. Proficient in basic computer skills and mathematical skills. Working knowledge of ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sightline, AS400. Experience in order picking by following paper pick tickets. Understanding of lot number integrity and verification of alpha/numeric part numbers. Experience in shipping, including third-party, prepaid, or consignee shipping. Ability to pack orders by counting individual pieces or using a digital scale. Capability to fulfill orders according to customer standards and requirements. Ability to handle heavy weight and work on feet for up to 8 hours. Proven experience in multitasking and handling various tasks simultaneously. Experience with material handling equipment like forklifts. Small package shipping experience with FedEx, UPS, and DHL. Experience in printing shipping labels, documents, and international shipping documentation. Commitment to workplace safety. Process-oriented experience in a fast-paced, production-driven shipping environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Professional demeanor with a positive attitude. Work Environment The work environment is a general warehouse that is clean and climate-controlled. The position involves working on the first shift from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with summer hours from Monday to Thursday and shortened hours on Friday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wauconda, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
