- Shipping and Receiving Associate Job Description The Shipping and Receiving Associate oversees all activities related to shipping, receiving, stocking, preparing, packaging, and loading parts for customers.
This role maintains accurate documentation, processes transactions in SAP, and ensures that all materials are prepared and shipped safely, efficiently, and on time. Responsibilities Receive incoming materials, verify accuracy against documentation, and stock parts in the appropriate warehouse locations. Prepare, pick, and pack parts and materials for shipment according to customer requirements and internal procedures. Package and load parts safely and securely for shipment, ensuring they are protected and correctly labeled. Maintain all necessary paperwork related to preparation, pulling, shipping, and loading materials for shipment. Complete system transactions and utilize the SAP system to record inventory movements, shipments, and related activities. Coordinate less-than-truckload (LTL) truck shipments and ensure all arrangements align with shipping schedules and requirements. Prepare and complete bills of lading accurately for all outbound shipments. Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move, load, and unload materials as needed. Use warehouse pick/pack processes to fulfill orders accurately and efficiently. Work with inventory records to help maintain accurate stock levels and support inventory control activities. Use Microsoft Office tools to support documentation, reporting, and communication related to shipping and receiving. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve shipping or receiving issues and support timely order fulfillment. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area. Essential Skills Experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse environment. Hands-on experience with pick/pack and shipping/receiving operations. Ability to operate a forklift; current or recent forklift certification (within the last three years) is a strong advantage. Training in the safe operation of an overhead crane. Experience working with bills of lading and inventory documentation. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, with SAP experience considered a significant plus. Knowledge of UPS or FedEx shipping software is a plus. High school diploma or GED. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. Professional, proactive, and motivated attitude with a focus on reliability and cleanliness. Additional Skills & Qualifications Current or recent forklift certification (within the last three years) preferred. Training in safe operations of an overhead crane. Experience coordinating LTL truck shipments and preparing bills of lading. Prior experience using SAP for inventory or shipping transactions is highly desirable. Knowledge of UPS or FedEx software for processing shipments is beneficial. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry. Ability to work efficiently in a structured warehouse environment while maintaining high safety standards. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a clean, temperature-controlled warehouse environment. You will spend most of the day standing and walking, with occasional lifting of up to 70 lbs as part of normal warehouse duties. The facility uses equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes, and work involves pick/pack and shipping/receiving activities. Safety is a priority, and you will be required to wear appropriate safety gear, including safety glasses and suitable footwear, to comply with site safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mason, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.13 - $31.13/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
