Job Title:
Shipping Associate Job Description The Shipping Associate works in the shipping department to ensure finished products are accurately prepared, packaged, and shipped to customers. This role involves handling heavy materials, operating material-handling equipment, and completing shipping documentation while maintaining high attention to detail and safety. Responsibilities Prepare and package finished products for shipment according to company and customer requirements. Lift and move products weighing up to 80 lbs safely and efficiently. Operate an overhead crane and forklift to move larger or heavier products as needed. Complete bills of lading accurately and ensure all shipping documentation is correct and up to date. Call and coordinate with freight carriers to schedule pickups and shipments. Print and apply shipping labels and any required documentation to outgoing shipments. Perform shipping, receiving, and general warehouse tasks as assigned. Assist with inventory-related activities, including organizing and staging materials for shipment. Use basic computer systems to enter, update, and track shipping information. Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and material-handling equipment. Support other warehouse and shipping team members and perform additional tasks as requested by leadership. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience working in a shipping role. Ability to lift up to 80 lbs on a regular basis. Proven attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and packaging. Previous forklift experience and ability to operate a forklift safely. Basic computer experience for entering and printing shipping information. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience preparing bills of lading is a plus. Experience calling and coordinating with freight carriers is a plus. Background in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or inventory handling. Comfort using overhead cranes or similar material-handling equipment. Why Work Here? Overtime can be scheduled flexibly by starting early, staying late, or working on Saturday, depending on individual preference. Employees use material-handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes and rely on computer systems for shipping tasks. Safety is a priority, and employees are required to wear safety glasses and steel-toed shoes while on the production floor. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
