Overview:
Job Description Typical Duties Responsible for warehousing activities including the receipt of materials, supplies, freight; and the shipment of finished products, according to company policies and procedures. Ensures materials are received, unloaded and inspected securely and safely from delivery vehicles, compares items and quantities received against freight bills, vendor invoices, bills of lading, customer orders, manifests, or other records, documenting discrepancies; and that materials are delivered to inventory for storage. Maintains records of damaged or defective items; records time, date, quantity, source, and destination of materials, including updating the purchase order system for receipts/shipments that are received, cancelled, or back-ordered. Gathers, verifies, scans, labels, packs/wraps, loads items and ensures shipment in a timely manner according to specifications and the applicable transportation method. Ensures the orderly stocking and timely delivery of merchandise and the security and accountability of inventory, enabling materials to be available to meet production schedules and/or products are shipped as per marketing schedules. Job Examples Participates in cycle counting and material handling activities for the plant to ensure inventory accuracy and maintenance, including completing row audits and investigating variances. Performs regular preventative maintenance to operating equipment as per instructions. Evaluates the efficiency of existing shipping/receiving operational methods, processes, and procedures, recommends improvements when necessary and updates management on all inventory issues on a regular and as-needed basis.
Skills and Experience:
Knowledge Level Applies basic job skills and knowledge, typically acquired through limited relevant work experience (1 years). Typically requires completion of high school diploma or equivalent and may require some related vocational training. Key Competencies/ Knowledge Application Follows established procedures, policies, and processes to accomplish tasks. Job Scope/Complexity Duties and tasks are standardized and routine. Acquires skills in adapting procedures, techniques, and/or equipment to meet job requirements in area of specialization.
