Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations by accurately receiving, inspecting, processing, and shipping incoming and outgoing materials. This position ensures all products and documentation are handled correctly, inventory records are accurate, and shipments are prepared and processed in a timely manner. Responsibilities Responsible for receiving and accepting deliveries of aircraft parts from suppliers or carriers. This involves verifying the accuracy of the shipment against purchase orders or shipping manifests. Inspect the received parts for any damage, defects, or discrepancies. This may involve conducting visual inspections, checking for proper packaging, and ensuring the parts meet the required specifications.
Documentation and record-keeping:
accurately document all received parts, including their quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, and condition. This information is essential for inventory management and tracking purposes. Assist in the organization and management of the inventory of aircraft parts. This may include properly storing parts in designated locations, and updating inventory systems or databases.
Coordinating with internal teams:
You will collaborate with other teams within the organization, such as Sales, Sales Support to ensure the timely availability of aircraft parts. This may involve communicating any issues or discrepancies, coordinating returns or exchanges, and maintaining open lines of communication. Responsible for handling various paperwork associated with the receiving process, such as shipping documents, invoices, packing slips, or customs forms. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation is crucial to ensure proper traceability and compliance. Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines while handling aircraft parts, including proper handling of hazardous materials, adherence to safety procedures, and compliance with aviation regulations.
Resolving issues and discrepancies:
In the event of any issues, discrepancies, or damaged parts, you will collaborate with suppliers, carriers, or internal teams to resolve problems and ensure the appropriate actions are taken. Actively identify opportunities for process improvements in the receiving area, such as streamlining procedures, enhancing efficiency, or implementing best practices to optimize operations. Packing items securely and appropriately, ensuring they are protected during shipping or transport. Checking the accuracy of orders and verifying that the correct items are being packed. Labeling and documenting packages according to shipping and customer requirements. Inspecting packaging materials for defects or damage and reporting any issues to management. Operating equipment such as box cutters and sealing machines to prepare packages for shipping. Responsible for preparing air waybills, which are the primary shipping documents for air cargo. (This includes accurately entering all necessary information such as shipper details, consignee details, shipment contents, weight, and dimensions.) Other duties as assigned.
