Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. The Shipping Clerk will be responsible for coordinating the shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, and maintaining efficient warehouse distribution. This role plays a vital part in supporting seamless logistics operations, adhering to trade compliance standards, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a solid understanding of shipping logistics and inventory management. Responsibilities Prepare and process outgoing shipments using appropriate packaging materials, ensuring compliance with safety and trade regulations. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and RF scanners for accurate data entry, order picking, packing, and inventory updates. Load and unload shipments efficiently using equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and order pickers. Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspect for damages or discrepancies, and update inventory records accordingly. Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries while maintaining accurate shipping & receiving documentation. Maintain accurate stock levels through effective inventory management software and regular cycle counts. Assist in organizing warehouse layout for optimal stocking, picking & packing processes, and overall warehouse distribution. Support order fulfillment by accurately picking items from shelves using RF scanners or manual methods. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade documentation requirements during cross-border shipments. Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve shipping issues promptly and professionally. Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and organization within the warehouse environment. Experience Prior experience in warehouse operations or logistics roles is essential; familiarity with warehouse distribution is highly valued. Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms, and inventory management software. Hands-on experience with shipping & receiving procedures, order picking & packing, and load & unload activities. Knowledge of international trade regulations and trade compliance standards. Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and other warehouse equipment safely. Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and calculations related to shipping weights or dimensions. Strong data entry skills combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all shipping documentation. Customer service orientation to handle inquiries related to shipments professionally.
