Shipping & Receiving Clerk - Webster, TX 1‑Year Contract | Temp‑to‑
Hire Pay:
$19-$21/hr
Hours:
1st shift M-F We are seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support daily warehouse operations in Webster, TX. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on work, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and brings strong inventory and documentation skills. This is a 1‑year contract with a clear temp‑to‑hire pathway based on performance. Responsibilities Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling and documentation Perform inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records Use Microsoft Excel and Word for tracking, reporting, and documentation Safely lift, move, and handle materials up to 50 lbs Maintain a clean and organized work area Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and operations teams Support overtime needs as required Required Qualifications Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions in English Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word Previous inventory management or inventory control experience Strong organizational and multitasking skills Team‑oriented with strong communication skills Willingness to work overtime as needed Preferred Qualifications Forklift certification Warehouse operations experience SAP or ERP system experience International shipping/export documentation experience Background in logistics, transportation, or supply chain Key Skills & Competencies High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment Strong problem‑solving and time‑management skills Commitment to safety and standard operating procedures Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical Requirements Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the workday Safe operation of warehouse equipment when certified Why This Role Stands Out This position offers stability, hands‑on work, and a strong pathway to long‑term employment.
