Verify received items against purchase orders and packing slips to ensure accuracy. Sort, label, and stock received merchandise in designated storage areas. Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and arranging for carrier pickup or drop-off. Maintain organized and clean storage areas, ensuring efficient access to merchandise. Assist with inventory counts and periodic audits to maintain accurate inventory records. Collaborate with other team members to fulfill customer orders and requests in a timely manner. Operate shipping and receiving equipment, such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners, safely and efficiently. Follow established safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and vendors regarding shipment status, inventory levels, and any issues or concerns. Minimum Qualifications Must be a current University of Utah student. Preferences Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting, sorting, and labeling merchandise. Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and packages, up to 50 pounds, safely. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using basic computer software for inventory tracking and email communication. Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends as needed.
