Summary:
Responsible for carrying out warehouse activities relating to material handling, shipping, and receiving procedures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities . Other duties may be assigned as required. Carry out all procedures for shipping in a manner that will prevent quality issues at the customer site. Review inventory level to ensure adequate amounts are on hand to fill orders on dispatch schedule. Prepare necessary labels for pallet identification. Pull finished goods from warehouse and properly stage, wrap, and label for shipment. Inspect trucks to ensure preservation of shipped product after leaving dock. Prepare and review accuracy of all related shipping paperwork. Data entry and retrieval of information in Excel and SAP applications. Computation of basic math, administrative tasks to include, but not limited to scanning and filing of documents. Provide raw material, in-process, and finished goods handling assistance to production lines as needed. Maintain cleanliness of warehouse area by promptly removing debris (wood pallets and crates, packing material, etc.). Perform work in a safe manner while identifying and communicating potential hazards in or around the warehouse. Communicate with other departments as necessary to ensure accuracy of outbound shipments to customer. Provide input and suggestions to management so as to allow for continual improvement of warehouse operations. Perform all tasks in a manner compliant with EPL safety, quality, and GMP standards as necessary. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualification/Education:
High school or GED required. Minimum of 1 year experience in forklift operation within an organized warehousing facility. Ability to operate a forklift and/or other related material handling equipment and receive certification as required to operate such equipment. Ability to effectively and accurately communicate with both internal and external customers. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written and verbal instruction. Ability to present information and respond to questions from management. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all necessary units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written. Ability to use computer applications and spreadsheets to maintain inventory and material information.
