Job Description

Advertisement:
Douglas Fruit is looking for a night shift shipping clerk to join our team. We are committed to providing a socially responsible work environment that promotes opportunities for professional growth and development.
Job Summary:
The shipping clerk needs to communicate with packing line supervisors, repack supervisors and the operations manager daily. Needs to be able to perform and solve problems and communicate well. Works closely with the WSDA to ensure requirements are met on all export shipments. Must maintain inventory accuracy and quality.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for scheduling trucks for outbound orders
  • Responsible for accurately checking trucks in and out.
  • Answering shipping phone calls.
  • Communicate with WSDA and USDA on daily basis.
  • Ensure all Standard Operating Procedures are followed within shipping department.
  • Properly completing all export paperwork including request and photos.
  • Ensure files are made for next day and new files made as orders are booked with appointments.
  • Ensure outbound transfers are scheduled and shipped.
  • Responsible for housekeeping cleanliness of shipping office.
  • Ensure shipping emails are answered timely and correctly.
Maintaining inventory integrity by ensuring the oldest fruit is used first. Maintain communication between departments such as but not limited to; repack, packing line, sales, and receiving. Maintain compliance of SQF standards. Communicate with WSDA daily. Work within WMS and ensure all WMS process is followed by the shipping department. Ensure notes in files are made and compliances are made on all orders.
  • Ensure transfers inbound are received and audited for accuracy. Assign staging locator to orders and accurately release them to the warehouse for set up by appointment. Available to work weekends and extended hours as needed.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (Discover, WMS, & Oracle).
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of clerical experience required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Current Driver's license

Probationary Period:
All new employees will be subject to a 90-day probationary period. During this time, performance, attendance, and overall knowledge of the position will be evaluated. Successful completion of the probationary period can lead to regular full-time employment with ongoing benefits.

    Starting Hourly Rate:
    $17.76
