What You'll Do:
The Brass Tacks Receive all hotel deliveries, including food and beverage, operating supplies, equipment, and other goods. Verify all deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, and other receiving documentation to ensure quantities, pricing, and products are accurate. Inspect incoming products for quality, condition, damage, expiration dates, and compliance with Hotel 1000 standards. Verify temperatures of applicable food products at the time of delivery and ensure proper food-safety procedures are followed. Refuse or coordinate the return of damaged, incorrect, expired, or otherwise unacceptable products. Accurately document all received goods and ensure invoices and receiving records are complete and properly routed for processing. Communicate discrepancies in pricing, quantity, quality, or product specifications to the appropriate department leader and/or Accounting. Maintain an organized, clean, secure, and efficient receiving area. Coordinate with hotel departments to ensure received products are delivered or stored in the appropriate location in a timely manner. Assist with maintaining appropriate inventory controls and organization of hotel storage areas. Rotate products using appropriate FIFO procedures and assist in monitoring expiration dates and product quality. Maintain accurate records of credits, returns, shortages, substitutions, and damaged merchandise. Work closely with Culinary, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Housekeeping, Spa, Purchasing, and Accounting to ensure deliveries and inventory needs are properly managed. Assist with physical inventories, month-end counts, and inventory reconciliation as needed. Maintain appropriate security and control of the receiving area and ensure vendors follow hotel receiving procedures. Build professional relationships with vendors and delivery personnel while holding partners accountable to Hotel 1000's quality and delivery standards. Maintain regular attendance, which may vary according to the needs of the business. Receive, log and deliver condo owners packages. Perform any additional duties as assigned by your supervisor. The Nitty Gritty High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous receiving, purchasing, inventory, warehouse, accounting, or hospitality experience preferred. Hotel, restaurant, or food and beverage receiving experience is strongly preferred. Ability to accurately review invoices, purchase orders, quantities, pricing, and other receiving documentation. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic mathematical skills with the ability to calculate quantities, pricing, extensions, and discrepancies. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with vendors, hotel leaders, and team members. Ability to lift 50#. Ability to handle issues with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Proven proficiency working with computers and basic business software; experience with Excel and purchasing or inventory systems is preferred. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple deliveries and requests, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and move products associated with hotel receiving operations. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and work in receiving, storage, refrigerated, and freezer areas as necessary. Must be available to work a schedule that supports hotel receiving operations, which may include early mornings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
