Job Title:
1st Shift Shipping and Receiving Clerk Job Description This role supports daily warehouse operations by handling all aspects of shipping and receiving, from unloading deliveries to preparing outgoing orders. You will work with an ERP system to process inventory, operate material handling equipment, and ensure that products are accurately counted, packaged, and staged for shipment in a clean, climate-controlled facility. Responsibilities Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently using appropriate material handling equipment. Count, weigh, and inspect incoming parts to verify accuracy and quality against packing lists and documentation. Process incoming and outgoing inventory using ERP software and RF scanners to maintain accurate records. Pick parts and assemble orders according to work orders, pick lists, or customer requirements. Package orders securely using appropriate materials and methods to prevent damage during transit. Build pallets, crates, or boxes as needed, including wrapping and labeling shipments according to shipping standards. Use pallet jacks and other material handling tools to move products within the warehouse. Maintain organized warehouse inventory by properly storing, labeling, and tracking materials. Follow all safety procedures while handling equipment, including sit down forklifts once trained. Stand and perform physical warehouse tasks for 810 hours per day as required by the shift. Assist with general warehouse duties such as keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Collaborate with team members and leadership to support smooth shipping and receiving operations. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience in shipping and receiving. Hands-on experience with warehouse inventory processes. Ability to use ERP software for inventory processing and data entry. Proficiency with RF scanners for tracking and managing inventory. Experience with packaging, including building pallets, crates, or boxes, and wrapping and labeling shipments. Ability to operate a pallet jack and perform general material handling tasks. Capability to stand and perform warehouse duties for 810 hours per day. Willingness and ability to learn and operate a sit down forklift. Strong attention to detail when counting, weighing, and inspecting incoming parts. Basic data entry skills and comfort working with computer-based systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience operating a sit down forklift or formal forklift training. Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment. Comfort working with small teams and in a collaborative setting. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures. Why Work Here? The role involves standing for most of the shift and performing physical tasks related to material handling, shipping, and receiving in a safe and orderly setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Atkinson, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
