The Shipping Clerk locates, packs, weighs, ships and tracks orders for customers. Also, creates appropriate documentation for shipments. The Shipping Clerk locates, packs, weighs, ships and tracks orders for customers. Also, creates appropriate documentation for shipments. Assembles containers as required according to the customer order and the carrier. Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding. Binds containers with tape, shrink wrap, strapping or other available material and ensures paperwork is accurate and visible. Counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Affixes labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information, using available equipment and customer specifications. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Operates appropriate equipment to move, convey or hoist pallets/boxes.
