GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This position reports to the Shop Superintendent. Must work well with others but also have the ability to work independently.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Initial assignment qualities and responsibilities to include: Safely and efficiently operate overhead cranes with proper cables or straps according to load requirements. Safely and efficiently operate a forklift. Safely and efficiently operate hand and power tools. Review shipping papers for inbound and outbound shipments. Ability to climb ladders to access truck beds. Proper handling of incoming and outgoing products i.e., identify damage, weighing of rolls, staging of rolls, etc. Basic computer skills required. Carpentry skills required (building and maintaining roll crates). Must be able to read a diameter tape and a carpenter's tape for accurate measurements of rolls as received. Other assignments as directed by production supervision. Ability to perform other maintenance, housekeeping, painting and miscellaneous tasks as needed and/or as directed by supervision. Be willing and able to proficiently perform all tasks safely with or without supervision.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience:
1-3 years of experience (manufacturing preferred). On the job training will be provided.
