Shipping Clerk Responsibilities:
- Schedule and maintain appointments for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Prepare and assist with international shipping documentation.
- Maintain shipping and receiving records and filing systems.
- Learn and utilize shipping and receiving processes and procedures.
- Answer shipping and receiving related phone inquiries.
- Process UPS shipments and related documentation.
- Utilize and maintain barcode systems.
- Coordinate customer return requests and complaint follow-up activities.
- Perform cycle counting and investigate inventory discrepancies.
- Identify and implement process improvements within shipping and receiving operations.
- Process incoming shipments according to established procedures.
- Conduct weekly pallet inventories.
- Support purchasing efforts to ensure timely material deliveries.
- Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness.
- Assist with delivering raw materials to production lines.
- Support the Material Flow Coordinator and logistics team as needed.
- Assist with physical inventory activities.
Shipping Clerk:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous shipping experience preferred.
- Forklift operating experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret shipping reports and regulatory documents.
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, regulatory agencies, and management.
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and averaging.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
- Ability to use hands for handling materials, equipment, and controls.
- Ability to meet visual requirements including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
