Job Description
Job Summary Performs part or all aspects of receiving, stocking, issuing, distributing and shipping supplies to hospitals, companies andservices of Mon Health. Adheres to and performs all documentation and computerization required to insure efficient andaccurate operations. Provides immediate distribution and warehousing services to all affiliates and precise logistical anddelivery services to assigned areas of Mon Health as appropriate. Inspects cartons carefully for damages, completesrequired documentation on damages and informs Purchasing department. Receives inventory and special-order items,records quantities received, compares receipts to product specifications, signs receiving documents and reportsdiscrepancies to the Procurement department. For inventory items, carries and posts all goods on appropriatedocumentation and enters data into the computer inventory system as required. Delivers inventory or special orderedgoods to the end user on a timely basis and maintains delivery schedule for inventory or non-stock goods. Completes allrequired documentation in the performance of responsibilities clearly and accurately. Ships freight daily via FedEx, UPS,and common carrier. Properly ships returned goods and returns goods into inventory. Utilizes multiple computer systemsin the performance of job duties. Updates and maintains computerized records in multiple computer systems. Responsibilities Performs Receiving Services Helps unload supplies at dock. Checks for visible and concealed damages while unloading; refusesand documents as appropriate. Receives hospital supplies, equipment and furniture and always verifies all orders received fromvendors by checking package slips against actual items received. Receives Freegoods items and prepares delivery documentation according to departmentalguidelines. Verifies packing slips against automated PO and keys the PO as being received in a timely manner. Notifies Purchasing in a timely manner of any discrepancies in accordance to departmentalguidelines. Prints notification of receipt, attaches packing slip and places in appropriate bin to be shelved ordelivered. Receives goods, equipment for health system affiliates and keys into the system according toestablished department policies and procedures. Takes initiative to contact proper department when receiving computer hardware/software. Notifies Accounting when capital equipment is received. Notifies Bio Med upon receipt of clinical electrical equipment, according to protocol and in a timelymanner. Takes initiative to contact proper department when needing assistance (i.e. casters on carts, electricalchecks, etc). Shipping Obtains proper documentation prior to shipping. Properly uses the automated shipping system. STAT shipments are shipped the same day. Generates spreadsheet for Accounting to use for paying purposes, which facilitates proper chargebacks to departments. Prepares all items to be shipped out; ensures boxes are secure and properly addressed with propershipping documentation to ensure timely and accurate shipping. Ensures items are packaged appropriately. Receiving Customer Service Makes suggestions on ways to improve the system. Understands and practices principles of confidentiality and security with respect to all forms ofinformation as applicable to patients, employees, guests and hospital systems. Responds to inquires in a pleasant, helpful and professional manner. Interacts with coworkers, patients, visitors and medical staff in a business-like, professional andfriendly manner. Coordinates with departments, Purchasing and accounts payable personnel to resolve problemsencountered with receipts or delivery of goods. Performs Other Duties as Required Attends mandatory in-services, staff meetings, and actively participates in self-education. Completes Manditory On-Line CE on time. Take initiative to assist co-workers when needed. Demonstrates knowledge and awareness when handling hazardous materials and can quickly locate MSDS. Follows proper protocol when need arises. Utilizes down time by taking initiative to perform other related duties. Maintains a clean and safe loading dock and staging area environment at all times. Utilizes all equipment safely and according to policies and procedures and manufacturer's directions. Uses proper body mechanics when lifting. Helps to trains new employees on Receiving procedures as needed. Complies with all policies and procedures. Performs other duties as required.
