The H.T. Hackney Co. is a leader in the wholesale industry. We are currently looking for an Operations/Department Manager to join our team. This role would include strategy, improving performance, procuring product, deliveries, and ensuring compliance. You should be ready to mentor your team members, find ways to increase quality of customer service and implement best practices across all levels. Ultimately, we will trust you to help us remain compliant, efficient and profitable during the course of business. Responsibilities Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective, and safe way. Effectively manage supervisors and cultivate a safe and positive work environment. Ensure and maintain proper staffing levels, productivity. Encourage employee engagement, training, coaching and development of the operations team. Oversee receiving, production, transportation, delivery, building maintenance and safety. Maintain operational and building compliance with employment law and company policies. Use data to improve profitability and maintain appropriate staffing levels. Manage budgets and forecasts. Perform quality controls. Skills Proven work experience as operations manager Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management and the distribution process; including purchasing, inventory control, transportation, scheduling, and safety. Must demonstrate strong leadership abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experienced with all aspects of logistics. Organized and proficient in problem solving. Experience in budgeting and forecasting Familiarity with business and financial principles Degree in Business, Operations Management in related field or minimum 5 years' experience in
