This Long-term Contract position is fully onsite and will guide the daily flow of medical and surgical supplies to support uninterrupted patient care. The individual in this role will lead frontline distribution staff, uphold regulatory and safety expectations, and strengthen inventory performance across receiving, stocking, and replenishment activities.
Responsibilities:
Direct daily Central Distribution operations, including receiving, storage, stock control, replenishment, and delivery of supplies used throughout the hospital. Lead, coach, and support a team of approximately 20 union-represented employees across materials, receiving, and inventory functions. Monitor inventory levels and product movement to maintain availability of critical medical and surgical supplies while reducing shortages and excess stock. Enforce hospital policies and operational standards related to safety, infection prevention, and compliant handling of materials. Coordinate supply support for clinical departments, including surgical services, to ensure timely fulfillment of department needs. Use Workday and inventory management tools to oversee staffing activities, operational reporting, and materials tracking. Partner with hospital leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve workflow issues and improve distribution efficiency. Maintain readiness for accreditation reviews and support adherence to Joint Commission expectations and other regulatory requirements. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. At least 5 years of experience in supply chain, materials management, or a related operational environment. Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience with responsibility for supervising staff in a fast-paced setting. Hands-on knowledge of inventory control, replenishment processes, receiving, and supply distribution operations. Ability to manage onsite operations within an acute care hospital or similarly regulated healthcare environment. Familiarity with compliance standards, safety procedures, and infection prevention practices tied to hospital operations. Experience leading union-represented teams is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of Workday and hospital supply chain systems is preferred.
