Hospital Supply Chain Work Setting:
Onsite -
Acute Care Hospital Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday-Friday with flexibility based on operational needs Equity Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Central Distribution Manager to provide onsite leadership for Central Distribution operations within an acute care hospital environment. This position is responsible for overseeing the efficient receipt, inventory management, replenishment, and distribution of medical and surgical supplies throughout the hospital. The Manager will lead approximately 20 union-represented employees while ensuring operations remain compliant with hospital policies, safety requirements, infection prevention standards, and applicable accreditation requirements. This is a highly visible operational leadership role that directly supports clinical teams and ensures critical supplies are available when and where they are needed for patient care. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of hospital Central Distribution operations. Lead and support approximately 20 union-represented employees , including Material Clerks, Receiving Clerks, and Inventory Support Personnel. Oversee the receipt, storage, inventory control, replenishment, and distribution of medical and surgical supplies. Ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained throughout the hospital to support uninterrupted patient care. Monitor inventory accuracy, product availability, replenishment processes, and supply utilization. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, inventory management, and distribution processes. Partner with hospital leadership, clinical departments, Surgical Services, and other stakeholders to address supply needs and operational priorities. Ensure Central Distribution activities comply with hospital policies, safety regulations, and infection prevention requirements. Maintain operational readiness for Joint Commission and other accreditation or regulatory reviews . Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and ongoing support to department employees. Effectively manage operations within a union workforce environment. Utilize Workday ERP and inventory management systems to support supply chain operations, reporting, and inventory control. Respond to operational issues and changing hospital needs with urgency and sound judgment. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on service, quality, efficiency, and patient care. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. 5+ years of supply chain, materials management, inventory management, or related experience. 3+ years of leadership or people-management experience. Strong inventory management and distribution experience. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced operational environment. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications Previous acute care hospital supply chain leadership experience . Central Distribution or hospital materials management experience. Experience supervising a union-represented workforce . Experience supporting Surgical Services and medical/surgical supply operations. Knowledge of Joint Commission readiness and hospital accreditation requirements . Workday ERP experience preferred. Team Structure The Manager will oversee approximately 20 union-represented employees , including: Material Clerks Receiving Clerks Inventory Support Personnel Schedule Typical schedules may include: 6:00 AM-3:00 PM 7:00 AM-4:00 PM 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Schedule flexibility is required based on hospital and operational needs.
