Job Description
About MIR Group MIR is a leading national importer and distributor of premium tile and mosaic products. We serve customers throughout the United States through dealer showrooms, designers, architects, builders, and national distribution partners. As MIR continues to grow and prepares to move into its new Morgan Hill facility, we are looking for an experienced and highly organized Senior Operations Manager who can improve how work moves through the company. We are looking for a proven process builder who can identify inefficiencies, establish structure, introduce automation, and ensure that departments consistently meet clearly defined performance standards. This is not a position for someone who simply maintains existing procedures. Position Summary The Senior Operations Manager will lead operational improvement across customer service, warehouse, order fulfillment, inventory, purchasing, and other administrative teams. The successful candidate will examine existing workflows from beginning to end, identify bottlenecks and unnecessary manual work, and implement practical solutions using better procedures, accountability, technology, and automation. This is a hands-on leadership position. The person hired must be comfortable observing work on the warehouse floor, reviewing data, mapping processes, working directly with employees, and personally driving projects through implementation. We are looking for someone who can turn an informal or overly manual process into a documented, measurable, and scalable operating system. Primary Responsibilities Analyze workflows across customer service, warehouse, fulfillment, purchasing, inventory, accounting support, and other operational departments. Identify bottlenecks, duplicated work, communication failures, unnecessary manual entry, and recurring sources of errors. Design and implement standardized workflows, SOPs, checklists, approval processes, and internal controls. Lead automation projects involving ERP, CRM, inventory, warehouse, order-processing, shipping, reporting, and customer-service systems. Work with internal IT personnel, software providers, consultants, and department managers to select and implement practical technology solutions. Improve the complete order lifecycle from receipt of a customer purchase order through order entry, inventory allocation, picking, packing, shipping, invoicing, and issue resolution. Improve warehouse productivity, labor planning, picking accuracy, receiving, inventory control, space utilization, and shipping performance. Help plan and execute operational aspects of MIR Mosaic's transition from San Jose to the new Morgan Hill facility. Use the relocation as an opportunity to improve workflows, departmental organization, warehouse processes, and the physical movement of information and materials. Establish meaningful KPIs and dashboards for each operational department. Create clear accountability for deadlines, service levels, accuracy, productivity, and follow-up. Review operational data to identify trends, exceptions, and areas requiring corrective action. Improve communication and coordination between sales, customer service, purchasing, accounting, and warehouse teams. Train managers and employees on new procedures and ensure that changes are properly adopted. Monitor implemented processes and make further adjustments based on measurable results. Help develop a culture of organization, urgency, accuracy, continuous improvement, and personal accountability. Manage multiple improvement projects simultaneously while maintaining clear priorities and deadlines. Present findings, recommendations, implementation plans, and results to senior management. Required Qualifications At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in operations, process improvement, distribution, supply chain, customer-service operations, or a related field. At least 3 years of experience directly managing managers or cross-functional operational teams. Demonstrated success reorganizing and improving processes across multiple departments not only within a warehouse. Proven experience implementing automation, software, or systems integrations that reduced manual work or improved accuracy and speed. Strong understanding of order management, inventory control, warehouse operations, fulfillment, shipping, and customer-service workflows. Practical experience working with ERP, WMS, CRM, shipping, reporting, or business-process-management systems. Ability to create process maps, SOPs, KPIs, dashboards, implementation plans, and accountability systems. Strong project-management skills and a record of completing projects rather than leaving them at the recommendation stage. Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability. Strong leadership, communication, organization, and change-management skills. Ability to hold employees and managers accountable while maintaining professional working relationships. Comfortable working directly in both office and warehouse environments. Ability to work full-time from the San Jose office through November 2026 and permanently from the Morgan Hill facility beginning in December 2026. Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, business, industrial engineering, or a related discipline or equivalent substantial professional experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience in tile, flooring, building materials, home improvement, furniture, plumbing, cabinetry, or another product-based home-improvement industry. Experience with a wholesale distributor, importer, multi-location operation, or e-commerce company. Experience planning or managing a warehouse, distribution-center, or corporate-facility relocation. Lean, Six Sigma, PMP, supply-chain, or process-improvement certification. Experience supporting growth across multiple warehouses or third-party logistics facilities. What Success Looks Like During the first year, the Senior Operations Manager should demonstrate measurable improvements in several of the following areas: Successful operational transition from San Jose to Morgan Hill Faster and more accurate order processing Reduced manual data entry Fewer customer-service and fulfillment errors Improved warehouse productivity and picking accuracy Better inventory accuracy Shorter response and resolution times Clearer departmental responsibilities and escalation procedures Consistent use of documented SOPs Reliable operational reporting and KPI visibility Successful implementation and employee adoption of new systems Improved coordination between departments Reduced operating costs without lowering customer-service standards Who Will Succeed in This Position You will succeed in this role if you naturally bring order to complicated operations, investigate the root cause of recurring problems, and remain involved until the solution is fully implemented and working. You should be equally comfortable speaking with executives, department managers, customer-service representatives, warehouse employees, software developers, and outside vendors. You must be willing to challenge inefficient habits, make difficult recommendations, and follow through with discipline. Candidates whose experience is limited primarily to supervising daily warehouse activity, without significant cross-functional process-improvement and automation experience, will not be a strong fit for this position. Application Requirements Please submit yourresume along with a brief description of: A major operational process you personally redesigned. The automation or technology you implemented. The measurable business results achieved. The departments and number of employees affected. Any warehouse, distribution-center, or company relocation you helped plan or execute. Important Location Information MIR Mosaic is relocating its headquarters and primary operations to a new facility in Morgan Hill. The person hired for this position will initially work from our current San Jose office through the end of November 2026. Beginning in December 2026, this position will be permanently based at our new Morgan Hill location. MIR Mosaic is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, experience, performance, and legitimate business requirements.
