JOB SUMMARY
Assists in managing all activities related to the Division's warehousing operations, ensuring that Division and Company objectives for efficiency, economy, quality and productivity are met or exceeded.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Participates in planning, implementing and monitoring the day-to-day operations for the Division's warehousing function, including analyzing operating data and reports, determining manpower needs and monitoring adherence to standards to ensure business plan objectives are met or exceeded. (25%) Manages assigned staff, including involvement in the recruitment and selection process of new employees, assigning work, providing training and development, evaluating performance, and building a motivated, effective team to ensure that organizational goals for diversity, career development, productivity, performance management and employee involvement are met. (25%) Periodically assists in auditing operational procedures and programs related to shipping and receiving and implements necessary improvements to achieve expectations for availability, storage, sanitation and security of inventory. (20%) Supports development and auditing of department budget and ensures that operational costs are within plan. Partakes in the purchasing and/or leasing and maintenance of all material handling equipment to achieve safety, longevity and efficiency objectives. (10%) Ensures compliance with all customer, governmental and Company directives and policies and ensures the preparation and distribution of all relevant reports and quality analyses summaries. (10%) Communicates with Division management and employees and provides relevant reports and analyses to ensure appropriate decision-making. Assists in conducting analyses on special project assignments. (10%) Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to:Education/Certification:
Bachelors' degree in business administration or related field from an accredited university or college or equivalent.Experience:
5 years of progressively responsible experience in warehousing operations involving multi-temperature environment with receiving, inventory control and shipping and 2 to 4 years of supervisory experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert): Storage and shipment of food or allied products. (J) Computerized inventory control systems. (J) Warehouse racking systems/processes (J) Management/supervisory concepts and techniques (J) Project management concepts and techniques (J) Relevant safety policies, practices and procedures (E) Regulatory policies and procedures, including OSHA, AIB, HACCP, and DOT (J) Forklift and palletjacks (J) Budgetary concepts and procedures (J) PC word processing/spreadsheet software (J) AS400 computer system (B) Skill and ability to: Serve as a team member, facilitator and/or leader as the team role warrants Lead a diverse workforce of approximately 60 employees in a 24 hour/7 day per week operation Manage and motivate employees in a team-based environment Interpret warehouse operations anomalies and identify appropriate solutions Prepare a variety of comprehensive administrative and technical documents and reports Prepare and deliver presentations to management, customers, regulatory agencies and other representatives of external organizations Assist in developing capital improvement cost/benefit analyses and subsequent forms Use various logistics and analytical PC-based software programs Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service Travel via airplane and drive an automobile Act in accordance with GSF's Values and CreedLEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
