Full-Time, On-Site About the Role Ecoslay is looking for a hands-on Shipping Manager to lead our shipping and fulfillment operations and ensure orders are shipped accurately, efficiently, cost-effectively, and on time. This role is approximately 70% shipping and fulfillment operations and 30% team leadership, planning, reporting, and process improvement. The Shipping Manager is responsible for daily order flow, parcel and freight shipping, carrier coordination, shipping documentation, international shipments, team performance, and shipping KPIs. The right person understands the details of shipping—not just people management—and is comfortable jumping into fulfillment operations when needed. What You'll DoShipping & Fulfillment Operations — 70% Oversee daily fulfillment for direct-to-consumer, wholesale, retail partner, marketplace, and international orders. Manage order flow from picking and packing through labeling, manifesting, staging, shipment confirmation, and carrier handoff. Ensure orders meet shipping SLAs, customer commitments, carrier cutoffs, and wholesale deadlines. Monitor open orders, backlog, aging orders, exceptions, backorders, and shipping delays. Manage shipments through USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL, freight carriers, and other logistics providers. Schedule parcel, freight, and pallet pickups and coordinate delivery appointments when required. Prepare and verify packing lists, manifests, commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation. Coordinate domestic and international shipments, including customs documentation Obtain freight quotes and coordinate palletized and LTL shipments. Monitor dimensional weight, package sizes, shipping methods, carrier rates, surcharges, and shipping costs. Use rate-shopping and shipping systems to select appropriate services based on cost, transit time, and customer requirements. Troubleshoot lost, delayed, damaged, returned, or incorrectly routed shipments. Submit and track carrier claims and investigate shipping charge discrepancies. Maintain adequate inventory of boxes, mailers, labels, pallets, packing materials, and other shipping supplies. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and efficient shipping and staging area. Team Leadership & Performance — 20% Lead, train, coach, and support shipping team members. Assign daily workloads based on order volume, deadlines, carrier cutoffs, and staffing. Set expectations for productivity, accuracy, attendance, safety, and accountability. Conduct one-on-one meetings and provide ongoing performance feedback. Monitor team productivity and address performance issues promptly. Cross-train employees across picking, packing, labeling, freight preparation, and shipping responsibilities. Build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team culture. Reporting & Process Improvement — 10% Track key shipping KPIs including order accuracy, turnaround time, on-time shipment rate, backlog, productivity, shipping cost per order, damages, and carrier service failures. Identify bottlenecks and improve fulfillment workflows, packaging, staffing, and carrier utilization. Develop and maintain shipping SOPs and training documentation. Prepare the department for promotions, launches, large wholesale orders, and seasonal volume. Provide regular updates to Operations leadership on shipping performance, staffing, risks, and operational needs. What We're Looking For Previous leadership experience in shipping, fulfillment, warehouse operations, distribution, or logistics. Strong hands-on knowledge of picking, packing, labeling, manifesting, carrier pickups, freight, and shipping documentation. Experience with USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL/freight, or similar carriers. Understanding of shipping rates, dimensional weight, carrier service levels, surcharges, and shipping exceptions. Experience with freight, pallets, bills of lading, and commercial shipping preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to shipping accuracy. Comfortable using shipping, inventory, order management, e-commerce, and spreadsheet systems. Ability to work alongside the team when needed. Ability to lift packages and work in an active warehouse environment. You'll Stand Out If You Have E-commerce or consumer packaged goods experience. Wholesale fulfillment experience. International shipping and customs documentation experience. LTL and pallet freight experience. Experience with rate shopping, carrier claims, shipping audits, or cost optimization.
