POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, organization, and operational performance of the warehouse supporting the company's vending and micro-market operations. This position oversees approximately 10 warehouse and support employees and is responsible for ensuring that products, inventory, equipment, and supplies are properly received, stored, organized, prepared, and distributed to support daily route and micro-market operations. A major focus of this position is employee leadership, training, accountability, and development. The Warehouse Manager is expected to lead by example, establish clear expectations, train employees to company standards, monitor productivity, address performance issues, and create a positive and professional work environment. The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on leader who can effectively balance people management with warehouse operations, maintain accurate inventory, improve efficiency, and ensure that daily work is completed accurately and on schedule.
Directly supervise and manage approximately 10 warehouse employees. Establish clear daily expectations, assignments, priorities, and productivity standards. Conduct daily team meetings or huddles to communicate priorities, staffing needs, safety concerns, and operational updates. Assign employees to appropriate warehouse duties based on workload, skill level, and operational needs. Monitor employee attendance, punctuality, productivity, work quality, and overall performance. Hold employees accountable for following company policies, procedures, and performance expectations. Provide regular coaching, feedback, and performance counseling. Recognize employees for strong performance and contributions. Address employee performance concerns promptly and professionally. Assist with disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans when necessary. Promote teamwork, professionalism, respect, and accountability within the warehouse. Maintain a positive work environment while ensuring employees understand that productivity and performance are expected. 2.
EMPLOYEE TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
Develop and maintain a structured training program for warehouse employees. Train new employees on warehouse procedures, inventory handling, equipment, safety, sanitation, and company expectations. Ensure employees are properly trained before performing assigned responsibilities independently. Cross-train employees in multiple warehouse functions to provide operational flexibility. Provide refresher training when procedures, equipment, products, or company expectations change. Monitor employee understanding and competency following training. Maintain employee training records and documentation. Identify opportunities for employee development and advancement. Coach employees on proper work habits, organization, communication, customer-service support, and productivity. Develop employees to become future leads and supervisors. 3.
DAILY WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS
Oversee the daily operation and organization of the warehouse. Ensure warehouse employees complete assigned tasks accurately and on time. Coordinate receiving, stocking, picking, staging, loading, and distribution activities. Ensure products are properly organized and readily accessible. Maintain an efficient warehouse layout that supports vending and micro-market operations. Ensure route drivers and service personnel have the products and supplies needed for their scheduled routes. Coordinate daily priorities based on route requirements, customer needs, inventory levels, and operational demands. Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or assignments as needed. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve efficiency. 4.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
Maintain accurate inventory of food, beverages, snacks, supplies, equipment, and other warehouse items. Oversee receiving and verification of incoming products. Ensure products are properly counted, stored, rotated, and labeled. Implement and maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) product rotation. Monitor expiration dates and product condition. Identify damaged, expired, short-dated, or unsellable products. Conduct routine inventory counts and assist with periodic physical inventories. Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Monitor product usage and help identify ordering needs. Work with purchasing and operations leadership to maintain appropriate inventory levels. Minimize product waste, damage, shrink, and unnecessary inventory. 5.
VENDING & MICRO-MARKET SUPPORT
Ensure warehouse operations effectively support all vending routes and micro-market locations. Prepare products and supplies for daily route operations. Ensure route employees receive accurate product quantities and necessary supplies. Assist with product staging for new or existing micro-market locations. Maintain organized inventory of micro-market grab-and-go products, beverages, snacks, and supplies. Support new location openings and product transitions. Help identify high-demand and slow-moving products based on operational feedback. Work with operations leadership to improve product availability and reduce out-of-stock situations. 6.
SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Ensure employees follow all company safety procedures. Conduct routine safety inspections and address hazards promptly. Ensure proper use of pallet jacks, carts, ladders, forklifts, and other equipment as applicable. Report equipment damage, unsafe conditions, injuries, and incidents promptly. Ensure proper storage and handling of food products. Maintain appropriate sanitation and housekeeping standards. Ensure employees follow applicable food-safety, OSHA, company, and regulatory requirements. Maintain required warehouse documentation and records. 7.
PRODUCTIVITY & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Establish measurable productivity expectations for warehouse employees. Monitor employee workload and productivity throughout the day. Ensure employees remain productive during scheduled work hours. Identify areas where labor hours can be used more efficiently. Monitor overtime and assist management with controlling unnecessary labor costs. Review completed work and ensure assignments are being completed correctly. Address repeated productivity or quality issues through coaching and accountability. Develop processes that improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency. Recommend operational improvements to management. 8.
COMMUNICATION & TEAMWORK
Communicate effectively with operations management, route drivers, micro-market personnel, purchasing, and other departments. Provide management with updates regarding staffing, inventory, equipment, employee performance, and operational concerns. Communicate daily priorities clearly to warehouse employees. Encourage employees to communicate problems before they become larger operational issues. Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure customers and locations are properly supported. Maintain professional communication with employees at all levels of the organization.
Skills & Specifications:
Minimum 1-3 year warehouse experience 1-3 years of employment mangement Must have good computer skills and able to use and format documents in excel, word, and google docs Must be forklift certified Graduation from high school or accredited GED program Ability to organize, delegate, train, supervise, and evaluate employees Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with staff and client Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds Able to squat, bend ,stoop, push, kneel, and reach Ability to sit, stand, & walk for prolonged periods Able to read, write, and effectively communicate Ability to montior, count, and keep track of all inventory items in warehouse Scheduling will be Monday-Friday 7am-3pm; no nights, 1 sunday a month Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening
