Job Description
Job Summary:
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the overall management and efficient operation of the warehouse facility. They oversee inventory control, shipping and receiving, personnel management, and safety compliance to ensure the smooth and productive flow of goods in and out of the warehouse.Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records. Monitor stock levels and reorder as needed. Implement inventory control procedures to minimize loss or damage. Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.Warehouse Operations:
Plan and coordinate warehouse layout and organization. Supervise shipping and receiving activities. Ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, and shipping of orders. Optimize storage space utilization. Implement efficient workflows and processes to improve productivity.Personnel Management:
Recruit, train, and supervise warehouse staff. Assign tasks and set performance expectations. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback. Handle disciplinary actions when necessary. Foster a positive and safe work environment.Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues. Implement safety training programs for warehouse staff. Maintain safety data sheets and emergency response plans.Equipment and Maintenance:
Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse equipment. Schedule routine equipment inspections. Coordinate with vendors for equipment servicing and repairs.Quality Control:
Implement quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing shipments. Investigate and resolve quality issues or customer complaints. Ensure accurate labeling and packaging of products.Cost Management:
Monitor and control warehouse operating expenses. Identify cost-saving opportunities. Optimize labor and resource utilization.Communication:
Maintain effective communication with other departments, suppliers, and customers. Provide regular reports on warehouse performance. Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to forecast inventory needs.
