Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Warehouse Operations Manager to lead and optimize our distribution center activities. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, process improvement, transportation logistics, and team supervision. Your leadership will ensure seamless order fulfillment, efficient freight handling, and continuous operational excellence. Duties Lead daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems. Oversee inventory control, demand planning, production scheduling, and procurement activities to meet customer demands accurately and on time. Manage transportation planning and logistics coordination with third-party logistics (3PL) providers, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), freight carriers, and fleet management teams. Implement process improvement initiatives utilizing lean principles and continuous improvement strategies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Supervise warehouse staff including hiring, training, performance management, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Monitor budget performance related to warehousing expenses, freight costs, procurement, and overall supply chain operations. Utilize supply chain analytics to identify opportunities for efficiency gains in shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, dispatching, and warehouse distribution. Ensure compliance with safety standards such as forklift operation certifications and OSHA regulations while maintaining a safe working environment. Coordinate with production planning teams to align materials management with manufacturing schedules. Optimize transportation management systems (TMS) for effective routing, dispatching, and fleet utilization. Skills Extensive experience in operations management within warehousing or distribution environments with supervising experience. Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory management, procurement, demand planning, and logistics coordination. Proficiency in Warehouse Management System (WMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or similar platforms for inventory control and order processing. Familiarity with process improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Expertise in transportation management systems (TMS), freight forwarding (including NVOCC), shipping & receiving processes, and fleet management. Ability to analyze supply chain data using supply chain analytics tools to inform decision-making. Skilled in budgeting, cost control, procurement practices, purchasing strategies, and demand forecasting. Hands-on experience operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment; certification preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively while fostering a safety-conscious culture. Excellent communication skills for coordinating across departments including production planning and logistics partners.
