- FedEx Delivery Contractor | Billerica, MA Full-time | Starting at $1,300 per week + performance bonuses CHK, an independent FedEx delivery contractor, is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager fluent in English and Spanish to lead a team of drivers covering up to 15 daily delivery routes.
We are looking for a dependable leader with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and an ownership mentality. The right candidate can organize daily operations, hold drivers accountable, solve problems quickly, and step in to deliver packages when needed. Schedule, Pay & Benefits Starting at $1,300 per week , with performance bonus opportunities. Additional pay for working a sixth day. Health insurance. 401k Daytime schedule, typically 5-6 days per week. Rotating days off and weekend coverage shared among operations managers. Scheduling flexibility when operational needs allow. This position requires flexibility beyond a standard Monday-Friday, 9-5 schedule. Some days involve long hours, and weekend availability is required. Responsibilities Lead daily pickup and delivery operations, ensuring routes are staffed and vehicles are ready. Monitor service performance, route efficiency, and driver accountability. Manage scheduling, driver callouts, and route coverage. Step in to drive delivery routes as needed. Communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and FedEx station staff by phone and email. Review and submit accurate timesheets for payroll. Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training drivers. Maintain efficient routes using FedEx's Dynamic Route Optimization (DRO) system. Coordinate vehicle maintenance and repairs to reduce breakdowns and downtime. Enforce company policies, safety procedures, required paperwork, applicable Hours of Service requirements, and pre-trip/post-trip inspections. Ensure drivers complete required safety training and promote a culture of safe, reliable service. Qualifications Fluent in English and Spanish , with the ability to communicate clearly in both languages. At least 21 years old to meet insurance requirements. Valid driver's license. Willing to complete a background check. Able to pass a required drug screening and DOT physical; costs are covered. Able and willing to safely operate a large step van, including P1000 or larger vehicles , and deliver packages to residential and commercial customers. Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable taking responsibility for results and addressing performance issues directly. Previous FedEx operations or management experience is strongly preferred. Experience with UPS, Amazon, or another delivery or logistics provider is also valuable. DRO experience and mechanical knowledge are strong advantages. Veterans and candidates with military leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
