Job Description
The Warehouse & Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, light production/assembly activities, and outbound logistics for a hydraulic distribution facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and accurate handling of hydraulic components, assemblies, hoses, fittings, and related products while meeting customer delivery, quality, and cost objectives. The position provides hands-on leadership for warehouse, production, and shipping teams, drives continuous improvement, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards. Key Responsibilities Warehouse OperationsDirect all inbound, storage, picking, packing, and shipping activities for hydraulic components and assembliesEnsure inventory accuracy through cycle counting, physical inventories, and system reconciliationOptimize warehouse layout, material flow, and storage methods to maximize efficiency and space utilizationMaintain compliance with material handling, labeling, and documentation standards Production & Assembly OversightLead hose assembly, kitting, and light manufacturing operations in accordance with specifications and quality standardsEnsure proper use of crimping equipment, test benches, and assembly toolsCoordinate production schedules to meet customer demand, expedites, and service-level targetsEnforce quality checkpoints, testing protocols, and rework processes Safety & ComplianceChampion a strong safety culture across warehouse and production areasEnsure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and environmental requirementsConduct regular safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective actionsMaintain proper training and certifications for forklifts, cranes, and production equipment Team Leadership & DevelopmentSupervise, coach, and develop warehouse and production staffSet clear performance expectations and conduct regular reviewsManage staffing levels, hiring, onboarding, training, and schedulingPromote accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement Education/Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required; postsecondary education preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or inventory management operations.
At least 2-3 years of supervisory or management experience, with direct responsibility for leading warehouse associates, leads, or supervisors.
Demonstrated experience managing inbound, outbound, and inventory control functions in a fastpaced environment.
Proven track record of driving productivity, accuracy, and safety performance within a warehouse or distribution setting.
Experience overseeing labor planning, scheduling, and performance management, including onboarding, coaching, and corrective action.
Handson experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, or inventory software, including reporting and operational metrics.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety programs, and compliance standards in a warehouse environment.
