Position Overview The Driver Performance & Training Manager is a manager-level leadership role responsible for owning driver performance metrics, training programs, and coaching initiatives. This role ensures drivers clearly understand expectations, receive consistent feedback, and are supported in meeting performance standards. This position is hands-on, blending data analysis, training delivery, ride-alongs, and coaching.
Work Schedule:
This is a salaried, manager-level position with flexible and variable hours based on business needs. While the role is typically aligned to a standard workweek, some days may require extended hours to support ride-alongs, training, or operational needs. Reporting Structure This role reports to the Operations Manager, Fleet Manager, and Owner. Key Responsibilities Own driver performance metrics including safety, compliance, and delivery quality Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance trends Identify at-risk drivers early and implement coaching plans Conduct structured coaching conversations focused on improvement Lead performance reviews and corrective action plans when required Lead the metrics, performance, and safety portion of new-hire orientation Conduct ride-alongs for new hires and drivers needing additional support Provide real-time coaching on driving behaviors and route execution Lead training related to in-vehicle camera systems and safe driving behaviors Ensure performance management is consistent, documented, and fair
•Team Coaching & Operational Support
• The Delivery Team is responsible for the day-to-day execution of delivery operations. As a member of the management team, you will be responsible for training, coaching, and supporting drivers in the successful execution of these daily responsibilities, including: Coaching safe driving behaviors and ensuring compliance with company policies, local and state laws, and vehicle safety standards Reinforcing excellent customer service practices, including maintaining professionalism during high-pressure or challenging situations Supporting drivers in meeting the physical demands of the role, including working in varying weather conditions, safely handling packages up to 50 lbs, and navigating stairs and variable delivery locations Ensuring effective communication between drivers and support teams to promote on-time, successful deliveries Training and reinforcing proper use of mobile technology for navigation, package scanning, timekeeping, and communication Coaching best practices for efficient loading, unloading, and route execution Providing hands-on support when needed, including participation in ride-alongs and occasional rescue support to assist drivers in completing routes Qualifications (Preferred) Leadership or management experience Experience coaching, training, or managing employee performance Familiarity with delivery, logistics, transportation, or safety environments Ability to analyze performance data and translate it into actionable coaching Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills DSP or last-mile delivery experience is a plus, but not required

Compensation & Benefits Pay:
$47,500-$60,000 Annually (experience-based)
