A Warehouse Manager manages warehouse storage of inventory or supplies for a company. Maintains records of inventory and supplies; oversees distribution from storage out to customers, retail distributors or other company facilities.
Job description: Transpak is looking for candidates for our two locations in Sterling Heights and Holly. Transpak Inc. has an excellent reputation in the automotive industry for our fulfillment, light assembly, logistics, warehousing, and distribution services to many OEMs and Tier 1 Suppliers. The manager in this role will provide direct, consistent leadership to employees within designated assembly units and manage ongoing production-related issues.
Assignments/Tasks:
Oversee Material Handlers in conjunction with their direct supervisor and re-allocate resources, when needed, to complete specific tasks. Responsible for hi-lo initial licensing as well as periodic updating. Coordinate incoming and outgoing documentation with Receiving and Quality Leaders including overseeing shipping clerks in pulling daily shipments per shippers and bills-of-lading and assures any production labels requiring replacement at shipping are correct via coordination with shipping personnel and Quality Leader. Oversees equipment operation & maintenance & plant optimization in coordination with Operations Manager. Holds meetings with Line Leaders to insure they are aware of and working on various company directives and goals. Responsible for insuring that during the absence of key quality personnel, back up support is provided and documentation requirements comply with Transpak's quality standards are properly documented. The Operations Manager should be advised of such absences, but such advisement need not be documented. Assure company Quality, Environmental & Safety requirements are being followed, including (a) assuring First Aid cabinet contains correct/current materials, and (b) follows W-7 instructions in case of a truck or well spill and/or using appropriate battery neutralizing materials (located in supervisor's office) should spills occur. Assist with all material inventory audits. Assure proper warehouse material flows and suggest improvements as appropriate.
