Description:
American Plastics, headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, is a leading designer and manufacturer of innovative plastic-injection molded products for the household & garage storage and commercial cleaning end-markets. We are searching for a Distribution/Warehouse Manager for our Jefferson City, MO location. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
Responsibilities:
Directs and coordinates activities associated with Warehouse Material Handling and Receiving Requirements, utilizing knowledge of quality control, inventory control, technology, and process improvements. Manages the receiving of products in an efficient and timely manner to meet requirements. Plans layout and execution of warehouse and considers
FIFO/KANBAN/WIP
requirements for distributing material to necessary departments. Develop inventory control procedures throughout the warehouse and manufacturing floor. Cycle counts, schedules inventory and maintains adequate stock at all times Maintains Trans4M system data for scheduling, purchasing and quality purposes Understands and adheres to all OSHA related requirements for warehouse work Provide safety awareness training to all Warehouse employees. Is willing to be a Certified Forklift Trainer and maintain all employee records as such Provides a safe working environment for all employees. Create an atmosphere where employees and management strive for the same common team goal. Motivates and leads warehouse personnel Frequently attends meetings and interacts with multiple departments to support business needs. Assists in disposal of bad product, manages all resin grinding operations for molding & exterior trash Directs employees on all shifts to support and service Manufacturing as needed Disciplines employees, handles grievances with the guidance of HR, maintains workflow for absences Trains and develops hourly staff, monitors hourly attendance, enforces compliance with company policies and procedures Other duties as assigned by Management Expectations Manage a safe, clean operation which promotes zero accidents Meet production and delivery schedules Meet operating cost budget Self-starter with ability to work independently, working with top level direction from Plant Management Strong work ethic with the company and customer always as a priority Ability to effectively communicate with all types of people from owners to hourly employees for business results. Very strong analytical and communication skills. Continuous improvement in a leadership role Proven ability to measure and perform against internal and external industry. A positive attitude! Ability to manage time and schedule effectively and timely.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree preferred; experience in lieu will be considered 5+ years' experience in Warehouse Operations Organized, detail oriented, Team player Resourceful, with ability to apply critical problem-solving skills Effective Communication Skills Associates degree or better in related field Computer Skills including ERP programs, Microsoft Excel, Word, etc. Results Driven with the ability to deliver productivity improvements year-over-year If you are interested in joining the American Plastics team and want to work in a fast-paced, progressive environment, we want to hear from you.
