Job Description
Warehouse & Fulfillment ManagerPosition Overview We are seeking an experienced Warehouse & Fulfillment Manager to lead all warehouse, inventory and fulfillment operations for a growing consumer goods and bulk wholesale business. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate receipt, storage, order fulfillment and distribution of products, while working closely with manufacturing, supply chain and customer service teams to meet delivery targets, control costs and continuously improve processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day warehouse and fulfillment operations including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing and shipping to meet service, accuracy and productivity targets.
Manage inventory control processes: cycle counts, reconciliations, adjustments, and root-cause analysis to minimize shrinkage and ensure records match physical stock.
Coordinate closely with manufacturing to plan inbound receipts, prioritize production transfers and manage finished goods flow to prevent stockouts or overstock.
Own fulfillment processes and SLAs for B2B and B2C orders; optimize workflows to improve order accuracy, throughput and on-time delivery.
Implement, configure and maintain ERP integrations and Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionality to streamline operations, reporting and transaction accuracy.
Lead, hire and develop warehouse staff, set performance expectations, conduct training on procedures, safety and systems, and foster a continuous improvement culture.
Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time shipments, order accuracy, inventory turns, dock-to-stock cycle time and labor productivity.
Establish and enforce safety and compliance programs in line with OSHA standards and company policies; oversee housekeeping, equipment safety and incident investigation.
Manage relationships with carriers, 3PLs and suppliers; negotiate freight and service levels to control logistics costs.
Drive process improvement projects using SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) or similar methodologies to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Prepare budgets, forecasts and capital plans for warehouse equipment and system investments; control operating expenses while supporting growth.
Support audits, quality inspections and customer-specific requirements for consumer goods and bulk wholesale customers.
Qualifications5+ years of progressive warehouse management experience with demonstrated success in warehouse operations and fulfillment management.
Direct experience working with or within manufacturing environments and coordinating finished goods flows.
Proven knowledge of inventory control practices, cycle counting, stock reconciliation and loss prevention.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems and practical exposure to Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); ability to lead system implementation or optimization projects.
Strong leadership skills with experience hiring, coaching and developing frontline warehouse teams and supervisors.
Demonstrated ability to analyze operational performance data and lead continuous improvement initiatives using SQDC or similar frameworks.
Familiarity with fulfillment models for consumer goods and bulk wholesale customers, including handling of palletized and mixed-case orders.
Working knowledge of safety regulations and best practices (OSHA); experience managing safety programs and incident response.
Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage competing priorities.
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business or equivalent work experience preferred; professional certifications (APICS/CPIM, CSCP, Six Sigma) are a plus.
