LAST-MILE DELIVERY STATION MANAGER
Oakvale
LLC 3000
Perimeter Park Dr, Morrisville, NC 27560 Raleigh-Durham Area | Full-time | On-site
ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Oakvale LLC is preparing to launch a last-mile parcel delivery operation in cooperation with GOFO. We are seeking a hands-on Station Manager to build a reliable local driver team, organize daily operations, and lead the station through growth. You will work directly with company ownership to recruit drivers, manage morning dispatch, monitor delivery performance, and resolve operational problems. Initial volume is expected to be approximately 2,000-3,000 packages per day, with a target of approximately 5,000 packages per day within three months. Actual volumes will depend on launch timing and business conditions.
WORK SCHEDULE & MANAGEMENT COVERAGE
The station operates seven days per week, with morning operations beginning at 4:00 AM. During the initial launch period, before a trained backup manager is in place, the Station Manager is expected to work on-site seven days per week and arrive by 4:00 AM to organize sorting, confirm driver attendance, assign routes, and prepare the team for dispatch. As the team develops, the Station Manager may identify and train an Assistant Manager or qualified team lead to provide management coverage. Once that person can reliably manage operations independently, days off and rotating coverage can be arranged with company ownership. The timing will depend on staffing and operational readiness. Daily end times and expected working hours will be discussed during the interview.
LOCAL DSP EXPERIENCE STRONGLY PREFERRED
We strongly prefer candidates who have managed delivery drivers for a DSP or another last-mile delivery operation in the Raleigh, Durham, Cary, or Morrisville area. Experience recruiting local drivers, organizing morning dispatch, managing routes, and handling delivery exceptions is especially valuable. We welcome experienced Station Managers, Dispatch Supervisors, and Delivery Team Leaders who are ready to take responsibility for a new station.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the station's daily operations and ensure reliable management coverage. Arrive by 4:00 AM on scheduled workdays to organize the morning operation. Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and retain delivery drivers. Coordinate package receiving, sorting, staging, loading, and timely dispatch. Confirm driver attendance, assign routes, and arrange backup coverage for absences and volume increases. Respond quickly to driver no-shows, vehicle breakdowns, late arrivals, incomplete routes, and other unexpected issues. Monitor delivery progress and coordinate route adjustments or delivery assistance when needed. Review proof of delivery (POD), investigate missing or incorrect documentation, and coordinate accurate corrections according to carrier requirements. Coach drivers on attendance, delivery quality, safety, and customer service. Identify and train an Assistant Manager or team lead who can manage the station during scheduled absences. Establish clear procedures and handoffs so operations remain reliable when responsibilities are delegated. Communicate with GOFO and company ownership about staffing, package volume, delivery results, and operational needs. Track successful deliveries, route completion, driver performance, returns, and operating costs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience supervising delivery drivers or managing last-mile delivery operations. Ability to support a seven-day work schedule during the initial launch period and arrive consistently by 4:00 AM. Demonstrated ability to recruit drivers and build a dependable team. Working knowledge of dispatch, route allocation, driver scheduling, and delivery exception handling. Ability to stay calm under pressure, prioritize urgent issues, and take practical action. Strong communication skills and the ability to hold drivers accountable while maintaining professional working relationships. Ability to manage operations independently, delegate effectively, and train a reliable backup leader. Comfortable using delivery applications, spreadsheets, and messaging tools. Ability to communicate effectively in English with drivers, carrier representatives, and company ownership.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Local DSP or last-mile driver management experience in the Raleigh-Durham area. Experience with GOFO, an Amazon DSP, a FedEx delivery contractor, or another parcel delivery operation. Experience launching a station or building a driver team from the ground up. An established local driver recruiting network. Experience training dispatchers, team leads, or assistant managers. Spanish language skills are a plus, but are not required.
COMPENSATION & BONUS OPPORTUNITIES
Regular weekly compensation is the higher of: $800 guaranteed weekly minimum; OR $0.03 per successfully delivered parcel across the entire station during that week. These two amounts are not added together. The parcel-based calculation covers the station's total successful deliveries, not parcels personally delivered by the manager. Examples based on seven days of station operations: 21,000 successful deliveries per week → $800 weekly compensation. 28,000 successful deliveries per week → $840 weekly compensation. 35,000 successful deliveries per week → $1,050 weekly compensation.
ADDITIONAL BONUSES
Fleet launch bonus: A separate one-time bonus for recruiting, onboarding, and retaining a reliable driver team capable of supporting station launch.
Parcel-volume milestone bonuses:
Separate one-time bonuses for reaching and sustaining agreed delivery-volume targets while meeting service-quality requirements. Launch and milestone bonuses are paid in addition to regular weekly compensation when the applicable requirements are met. Bonus amounts, targets, measurement periods, and payment timing will be agreed upon in writing before the start date.
